Wilderness
adventure and landscape photographer John Dittli has been photographing
the west and abroad for more than twenty years. His photographic
pursuits have taken him throughout the West and to such places as
the Canadian Arctic, China, New Zealand and Australia.
Though
John has created "in your face" adventure images for many clients,
his passion lies in representing people on the landscape. A wilderness
advocate, John prefers using "human power" in photographing the
wild places:

"Wilderness
sports photography is more than dropping models off at the top of
some peak, then photographing them from the helicopter on their
way down.
To
create an image that evokes a sense of place the photographer and
the models need to be involved in the entire backcountry experience,
which usually means some sweat getting there and a few nights taking
it all in".

|
| John's
images have appeared in dozens of magazines, books, calendars and
posters. As well John has produced images for clients such as Ford
Motor Company, NW Airlines, Nike, 3M, Patagonia, and others.
As a true participant in the activities he photographs, whether
hanging 3000 feet up on the face of El Capitan, breaking trail for
a 7000 foot ski descent or swimming an ice cold plunge pool while
canyoneering, John gets the images.
John currently resides with his wife Leslie in California's Eastern
Sierra.
